Diane Kessel Knight

Diane Kessel KnightDiane Kessel Knight is a results-oriented consultant and coach with more than three decades of experience in team and individual performance improvement. She helps individuals and teams develop the awareness, vision, strategies, and habits necessary to succeed in their career and in life.

Diane started her career with the S&A Restaurant Corporation (parent company to Steak and Ale and Bennigan's Taverns) where she held a variety of operations, training, and human resources management positions. Her strong foundation in Operations insured the link between training and human resources practices and organizational results. She then went on to become Vice-President of Training for Boston Market where she designed and developed a 5-year training strategic plan used to grow the business from 40 to 1140 stores in 4 ½ years. She had oversight for all of the employee and management training systems of this billion dollar business.

As a coach, Diane works with clients in a variety of industries including healthcare, restaurant and hospitality, retail, service, and non-profit organizations. She is committed to helping organizations - and the individuals within those organizations - address and resolve the issues that stand in the way of peak performance. She is also dedicated to helping individuals who want to take personal responsibility for finding more success and fulfillment either in their work or in their personal lives.

Whether working with one individual, a leader in an organization, a work team or a multi-disciplinary group, Diane's approach is consistent: customized to the needs of the individual or group, honest and straightforward, relationship based and focused on getting the result the client wants.

Her work is grounded in the principles of Emotional Intelligence, the indicator widely acknowledged as a more precise predictor of an individual's career success than the cognitive-based IQ. She is certified to coach individuals and teams in the use of the Emotional Competence Inventory (ECI), a 360° skills assessment that measures Emotional Intelligence. She is also a certified MBTI (Myers-Briggs) facilitator.

Diane earned her undergraduate degree in sociology from The University of Texas, her MBA from Southern Methodist University and her coaching certification from the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara.
